What a 'craic'! St Patrick's Day is a famous day for Lorquians, when the local people celebrate all things Irish, including the famous leprechaun, a mythical man who keeps a pot of gold and lives at the end of the rainbow.
In celebration of the Christian victory in 1452 over the Moors in Lorca, the town's populace has enbraced the spirit and the Guinness of St Patrick's Day and dedicated their collegiate church to the Irish patron saint, who they have adopted as their own.
Costa Almeria Tours took to the streets to view the raising of the Irish and Spanish flags in the Plaza de Espana and continued up to the Fortress of the Sun on Lorca's special Irish Day.
